TOT Workshop Road Map To Community Resilience

For many years, IFRC and National Societies has been working together to support the local community with an increased ability to adapt and cope with disasters, crises, shocks and stresses. The Road Map to Community Resilience (R2R) is a guide with a new approach and a participatory process developed by the IFRC to enable communities to become more resilient through the assessment and analysis of the risks they face, and the implementation of actions to reduce these risks.

Together with IFRC, APDRC conducted global ToT workshop and lesson learnt workshop in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

December 5-9, 2022, Seoul, Republic of Korea

From 5th to 9th December 2022, APDRC and IFRC jointly held Regional Training on Road Map to Community Resilience via Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (R2R via EVCA) in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

With about 30 participants and facilitators from 13 National Societies— Japan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Myanmar, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Nepal, Thailand, Lebanon, Papua New Guinea, etc.— and IFRC, the training provided a ground for lively discussions on DRR and experience sharing from around the world.

It also carries significance in that it is the first-ever face-to-face training on R2R via EVCA, which integrates "Roadmap to Community Resilience" and "Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment." Through the participants' assessment of the new curriculum, it aims to identify its effectiveness and any potential improvements.
